A Friend’s Comment on COSTCO
A lot of time when my friends and I want to go to Costco to get some products (maybe just a handful of stuff), but we will just end up leaving paying from $500-$1000 worth of home groceries. But of course those supplies are for a long period of time.Their product really do offer much attractive prices, but provided you purchase in bulk. most of the time, consumer just go in there and overspend, that happen to me most of the time too. The items that they carry in are not conveniently available in woolworth nor coles (in Aussie context).
Also, each time we drive in, we are supposedly require to sign up for its membership card and then, use the membership card to attain the free exit pass from the car park. They created such system so that some consumer who are lazy to do their membership refund (have to go through some tedious process), are being forced to pay up the membership fees and keep patronising Costco time and time again.
The Costco in Aussie, just launched their cafe/ Lolita version. A concept very similar to Muji cafe and ikea food court. The prices there are similar to ikea as well, selling hotdogs set for$2. Bringing in families and volume into the area. I have to say, the quality of their hotdogs are so good that, a couple of friends and myself would sometime just drive down to purchase it. (And bearing in mind that before we can even enjoy all these benefit, we would need to sign up the membership.)
