Exercise Molar is Over! Jumbo Scholarship looming ahead!
40th MASCC finally finished our last high-key event – Exercise Molar!
“On behalf of OETI, I hereby declare that, exercise molar is cut!”
Those were the exact words that my OC. Being in a daze after two artiliery strikes, we were not convinced and none reacted to it. Upon confirmation, all of us broke out in cheers and I nearly cried for joy. During the entire outfield, the conditions were worse than BMT’s. We didn’t receive sufficient rest due to our duty roster, and there was the constant presence of mosquitoes in our sleeping area. But I was glad we pulled it through eventually. Everyone was very supportive of each other despite our imperfections. At times, some of us would lose our patience. At times, some of us would screw up and not make good decisions.
In this outfield, I’ve learnt the concept of battalion form-up consisting of several key companies. Along with it, there were also fire movement orders, viad, and navigation. I’ve seen some of my course mates took up opportunities for leadership appointments. It was not an easy task, and I respected their bold courage to do so.
Now Exercise Molar is out of the picture, this leaves us with 4 more weeks to go.
I am looking forward to spend my last two weeks at OETI meaningfully before proceeding to Pasir Laba Camp for the Combined Arms Term (CAT).

I am glad that JUMBO Group extended the opportunity for a scholarship interview with them. My fondest moment was at one of their restaurants, Jumbo Seafood. My dad would drive us to the east coast’s outlet and indulge in their signature “Chilli Crab”. The value proposition of JUMBO Seafood is there. The mere fact that Singaporeans voted Mr Ang to represent hawker food during Gordon Ramsey’s Challenge is a true testament of Jumbo’s reputation.
Yesterday, I spent my morning trying to consume content of Jumbo Group and trying to envision how could I contribute to the organisation. While doing so, I realised Jumbo Group is a dynamic organisation and their foundations are strong. They are able to leverage on that to propel themselves forward.
The interview is happening on 2 June – tomorrow! In my life, I always believed in fighting for the things you want badly. Sometimes, you may fail but that’s not the end. Be stubborn and be persistent.
Keeping my fingers crossed for this one.
